Apikia’s official video stands out as one of our favorite avant-garde hotel commercials of 2024.

Initially, the marketing team’s guidelines leaned towards a conservative approach for the video.

The suggested a slow paced video, focusing on the hotel facilities, featuring a couple entering the premises and being greeted at the reception. You're familiar with these types of videos, aren’t you? You’ve seen them quite a few times, haven’t you?

After a series of conflicting discussions, we persuaded them to create an abstract video that would complement the hotel's design and overall aesthetic. Apart from gathering essential elements like the model, the musician and some firewood, the rest of the shoot was unscripted.

Having spent 12 days capturing architectural photography at the hotel, we were familiar with the property and the natural light's direction.

We opted to film the entire sequence during the blue hour to capture those subtle sky gradations and incorporate the element of fire.

Well, we understand that the reverse whispering at 0:08 might evoke a sense of a horror movie, but we LOVE IT, and I hope you’ll love it too.
