Santorini’s best photo spots for couples!

Couple Photoshoot

It’s your first holiday in Santorini. She wants pictures. You consider hiring a professional photographer because, let’s be honest, you suck at it. You wonder how many hours you should book. How much does a photographer in Santorini even cost? Will you look awkward in the pictures? Will the photographer be a jerk?

Let me explain.

It’s worth hiring a photographer. Not because we do it, but because it’s worth it.

Let me guess, you’re not good at posing. Well, we are all bad at it but our photographers know how to guide you and make you look your best. Awkward posing is not our thing anyway so you can expect elegant and natural poses that blend well with the Cycladic vibe.

Here are a few pictures from Santorini’s best photo spots:

1. ΟΙΑ

Oia is the most popular option on the list. - clean, quaint, and beautiful. But if you want those dreamy, crowd-free shots, you’ll have to wake up early. Plan for at least two hours to visit the best spots. Blue domes can be very busy even at sunrise, but we know alternative spots with equal, if not better, backgrounds (which I can’t share on in this post). Your photoshoot in Oia requires some planning and some effort from your side. If waking up at 6am is not your thing, consider an evening session in Imerovigli and/or Pyrgos.

2. IMEROVIGLI

Imerovigli has the best of both worlds. Blue domes, white houses, clean alleys, and our all-time favorite: Skaros Rock. Throughout the village, you can find beautiful photo spots that don’t require waiting in a queue. If stairways, caldera views, and domes are your thing, then Imerovigli is the best choice. In about 1.5 hours we can visit the best spots of the village.

3. SKAROS

Skaros is for the brave ones. Technically, it’s part of Imerovigli, but it deserves its own place on this list.

Carved by fire and fury, this rock has been standing tall for 3,500 years. It survived a volcanic eruption, so yeah, it’s probably sturdier than your knees after the hike. And trust me, you’ll feel that hike.

At the back of the rock, there’s a tiny chapel - always empty, always peaceful.

Imagine your own private outdoor studio - except the backdrop is nature’s masterpiece. No crowds. No noise. Just a blue dome, three bells, and the Aegean Sea stretching forever.

4. FIRA

Fira might not be the first place you think of for a couple photoshoot, but it has some really nice spots, especially if you’re a bit of a climber! Fira’s red-domed church is simply awesome, but getting to it isn’t easy. The rest is mostly busy streets and cafes. If you are visiting with a cruise ship, Fira is a nice option for a quick 30-60 minute photoshoot.

5. PYRGOS

The smallest yet one of the most beautiful villages in Santorini. For me, Pyrgos is a gem that has literally survived time. Picture this: narrow isles, white buildings, and a vibe that takes you back to the original Santorini of the '80s. People who want to visit more than one village often choose Pyrgos for convenience. It’s close to Fira, Imerovigli, and Akrotiri, with easy parking and a quieter, more authentic feel.
