James & Valerie | Proposal in the isles of Oia village

James had been dreaming of proposing in Greece for years but kept postponing it.

In 2024, the time finally felt right, and he booked their tickets to Santorini. He reached out for help with planning, initially considering a venue, but after some thought, he decided on something more intimate - a lookout point.

Like with every proposal, I suggested he start with the Ultimate Proposal Guide before booking vendors and services. A proposal at a lookout point is not only more budget-friendly than a private venue or terrace, but it also feels spontaneous and deeply personal.

After reviewing different spots, James chose to propose on top of a dome in Oia village at sunrise. The morning light in Oia can be awesome, but since the sun rises behind the mountains of Imerovigli, we had to time it perfectly - waiting for the perfect moment when the first rays peek over the apex.

At 6:07 AM sharp, Dimitris guided them onto the dome while I captured candid shots of Valerie - wide angles, close-ups, and finally, a photo of her with her back turned. That was James’ cue. He got down on one knee and asked the question that would change their lives forever. The rest is history.
