5:00 AM. Alarm goes off. Another morning, another ride from Pyrgos to Oia. My ritual never changes: I wake up, I don’t touch my phone, coffee, walking barefoot through the house. That first sip never gets old.
I’m meeting Dan and Nicole at 6:00 AM. I leave the house by 5:25. It’s still dark outside. Starting the day while the world is asleep makes me feel better about myself.
The session will be short. I have to make the most of it. We hit the Blue Domes before the first light. I know the exact moment the sun escapes the peaks of Imerovigli. I pace the session accordingly, so that arriving at my favorite sunrise spot exactly when the sun goes out feels natural.
I like the way they move. They both have that laid back, model vibe that makes my life a lot easier. I don’t have to finesse every pose. I use invisible direction, subtle cues together with some awkward silence and the pictures speak for themselves.
They aren’t afraid of heights, so we pushed it a bit and finished the session at Oia Castle. The light did me a favor that morning.
