Chanel and Themistocles chose the Athens Riviera for their wedding. For us it was a destination wedding since we traveled in from Santorini to capture it. The groom has the same name as me. Seriously who names their son Themistocles in 2025? Maybe that played a role in our connection.
Pre-wedding session in Acropolis
The tone was set the day before the wedding. We met at 5 AM by the Acropolis for a sunrise video session. They wanted the best film possible and they knew that the right light at that hour is the only way to get it.
The Wedding Day
The wedding took place on July 7th at Island Art & Taste. The event had a theme of modern elegance inspired by Ancient Greece with a no flower setup. Statues, candles and custom labels were beautifully put together by Poema Weddings.
The Approach
Flash, flash and more flash. They wanted a polished look and the best images possible so we brought a team of 4 in Athens. We had 2 photographers and 2 videographers for the preparations and a light assistant for the reception at Island Art & Taste.
Why it Worked
- They invested in a team of 4.
- Poema planned everything perfectly.
- The venue being so big allowed for some impossible shots with long telephoto lenses and off camera flash.
