David and Crystal | A unique elopement in Santorini

There are certain moments in life when we meet someone and feel an immediate connection. As if we have known each other for years, it feels like a soulmate-level connection that you experience in just a few minutes.

This is exactly what happened when David and Christal reached out to me to film their wedding video. Five minutes into our conversation, Christal said to me “We are the kind of people who would jump off a cliff to get the shot.”

That’s a dream quote for us photographers. We are looking for people who are willing to do everything for a shot, who would walk the extra mile to get to that awesome location, who will not complain when walking up Skaros’ steps.

Well, climbing up the 300 steps of Skaros inside a 10 pound dress will make you question a lot of things about your life (see the backstage photos at the end of the gallery) but the images will make it all worth it.

Sometimes people forget that this is also hard for us, shooting at 35 degrees, melting under the sun, climbing hills on Oxford shoes and holding huge light modifiers against the wind.

Remember that we do all these things for you.

Back to David and Christal, I somehow knew that these two individuals would be the stars of my favourite wedding film to date.

I somehow knew that these were the kind of people I want to surround myself with - bold, honest, and always ready for an adventure. These people are my tribe.

Within a few days, the entire wedding film had already taken shape in my head. I visualized the transitions between each set, the beginning, the end, the sound design.

Looking back, it's amazing to think that what started as a simple conversation led to this wedding film and pictures that will stand the test of time.

Ps. Their after photoshoot lasted three hours. During that time we had the opportunity to explore Skaros rock and collect some beautiful imagery against its dark surface.
